Kevin Wong designed Orii ring together with three other MBA students from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Kevin Wong is a son of a man who was visually impaired. He thought of what he could do to help people like his father get more from their smartphones. As we are in a global world of connectivity and information, he felt people like his father are at a disadvantage of benefitting from all their phone has to offer, and as such he was inspired to come up with the Orii ring Device.

Orii is a new smart ring that is designed to give it users full hands-free control of your their smartphone. The device is connected to your phone via the Bluetooth, and it enables a crystal clear audio conversation, which makes it suitable for those with hearing or sight issues.
The principle of which the device function is based on bone conduction technology which allows you to attach Orii ring to your finger and as you put the finger to your ear, you will get a clear feedback of the whatever sound is playing on your phone. The Orii ring is used to get clarity from your phone conversation, video clip and music playing on your phone.
The Orii device allows you to go completely hands-free with the help of its voice controls. The ring can be used to send messages, post to social media, and make calls among others. It is capable of working directly with Google Assistant and Siri to give iOS and Android users full a hands-free control of their device’s virtual assistant, while the companion app enables customized alerts through vibrations and LED lights.
